He's still better than your prime example of a speedster.
It's not only his bat that bothers me, it's also his pitiful speed in the outfield. He has to dive for plays that anyone else makes sprinting. Gomez was 3-4 2R, 1RBI and 1K today. JD 0-4 2K's (again). How many times can this guy go 0-4 with 2K's before Ozzie takes him out? He's killing the team.
-
ok, ill tell him and his .245 BA and .260 OBP. Nice example.
So you want a guy who can't hit or run hitting 5th everyday? I don't. Bottom line, JD needs to go.
-
Because he cant hit, not because he's not fast. You dont get on first base by winning a sprinting contest.
Tell that to Carlos Gomez.
-
No, its because once they get a walk and a hit, they GIDP or pop up weakly in the infield. Having one fast guy at the top of the lineup wouldn't make a bit of difference.
You're probably right about that, but taking one really slow guy out of the middle of the lineup and replacing him with decent speed will make a difference. If Jermaine was not in the lineup today or yesterday, we win.
-
We had 9 hits and 3 walks. It's frustrating when you leave runners on, but if we get a hit everytime there are runners on then I'm pretty sure our offense would be unparalleled in the history and future of the game, and it wouldn't even be worth playing games anymore. That goes for all teams, at all levels. Everyone does it (LOB's), and I think fans of teams who get shut out often(which has happened once, maybe twice to us this year) have more of a right to complain. At least we put runners on base...
Carlos jacked another, Uribe is drifting closer to the Mendoza line, BA got 3 hits, and Swisher walked twice. Worse games have been played, dear Chicken Little's, and worse will be played...
Yet they lost. I would rather see them lose by 10 runs then lose the way they did today.

but what about SPEED!!!!!!
The team was hitting the ball ok to all fields to begin the season, now seem to be lift and pull again. This day off couldnt come at a better time.
Why do you think we've had so many players left on base? I'll tell you. Nobody can run. Station-station base running loses games like todays, yesterdays and Monday's.

Owens as your leadoff guy for the year?????, welcome to your 4th place Chicago Whitesox.
Well they're headed there fast now.
-
That ship has sailed. He has a no trade clause this year.
Then we should bench him. He's worthless.
-
You want to trade Dye just to fit a bantam weight speedster that cant get on base. Oh Christ.
No, I want to trade Dye because he's horrible and has been since 2006.
-
The only person I can see who's expendable is Dye. He needs to be traded. This team needs some speed ASAP.
1. Owens LF
2. Swish CF
3. Thome DH
4. Konerko 1B
5. AJ C
6. Quentin RF
7. Crede 3B
8. OC SS
9. Uribe 2B
Lets get this lineup in there.
-
That AB by Swisher was horrible. I think it's time to get him out of leadoff and hit 2nd or 6th. Trade Dye and let Owens lead off. I hate losing winnable games.
-
Nice work Swish. Young is everywhere in left though...JESUS.
-
wow, he was very safe.
-
Quentin now tied for the Home run lead in the AL. I did not see that coming.
Tied with Crede

Is Cuddyer about to charge the mound from first? Farmer is making it sound like it.
Farmer is a crazy person.

That's not Punto, that's Barry Bonds. People get those two confused all the time.
You need to fix your signature by taking Michigan out of and adding Notre Dame.
-
Masset gives up 1 run, but I really liked what I saw from him.
He does look pretty confident up there.
-
By who, Quentin or OC?
OC.
* Uribe's range would of caught that. *
-
Defense? Huh?
Weak pop single, could of been caught, then Masset gives him second. Not good.
-
Looks like our defense is going to give that run right back.
-
Injuries killed our already small chance last year. We have a better chance of success and hopefully we will stay healthy too. I say a pray to no one every night that AJ doesn't get injured. I can't think of a player nearly as crucial to our success.
I think AJ and Jenks are the two most important players that need to stay healthy all year.

adam jones has the best mug shot ever. LMAO.
LOL, That's funny.
And that's a White Sox loser

All is I'm saying is the last two losses fall squarely on JD's shoulders. If he's not 100%, he shouldn't be playing. And yes, he is awful.
