  1. Just received noticed that season ticket packages are changing for 2018. I haven't see the games, but the two 27 game packages are gone. They'll still offer the weekend and weekday packages, but they'll be 20 games and they haven't released which 20 games.

    They are going to offer:

    7 game package

    2-40 game packages

    Full Season

And the mentioned 2-20 game packages that will replace the old weekend/weekday packages.

TO will get there, everyone knows it, but there's a list of 15 guys who should be in the HOF already and there aren't enough spots to both clear out those guys and deal with new retirees. When you have that setup, then people are going to have more room to allow "did I like the guy or not" to influence things.

Yet TD gets in with 4 seasons...Maybe you think Sterling Sharpe should be in, and I do, but that's opening pandora's box. TO should have been in there WAY ahead of TD.

I could care less who we trade Q to if it means we are getting the best package in return, even if that comes from the Cubs

A high profile deal like this is unlikely because if it goes wrong one team will have regret for years

Quintana could make sense for the Cubs due to the 4 years and relatively low cost because it would allow them to still spend on free agents moving forward

Replacing Arrieta (potentially and Lackey after this season is not going to be cheap. The Cubs window is right now before all their young guys get more expensive after hitting their arbitration years.

The Sox would want at least one interesting arm to go along with Jimenez, Happ and Candelario, but it would add Quintana without subtracting from the mlb roster at all

Quitana is a dirt cheap version of Lester....

You work for larger corporations, you are fine.

I own a small business. I used to have multiple options with full networks. Now I have about two options, with limited doctors and hospitals, and have been facing 20-30% increases every year. Since I have an individual plan, the carriers removed the best hospitals from my network, including the top pediatrics, which was the main reason I wanted the insurance.

IN order to provide for the people who couldn't have insurance before, they have stuck it to small businesses and their owners who aren't part of the larger group plans.

Thank you! It is the small business owner and the young and healthy (that are under/unemployed) that are funding the bill and feeling the crunch.

Young healthy people with incomes too high to get subsidies. Pre ACA, I paid under $100/month for a good plan with a low deductable. The rate was steady for the 3 years I was on it. If I tried to get a plan now, i'd be paying $400+/month with a $7000 deductible. That's basically catastrophic insurance. A plan with a reasonable deductable is $600-700/month. This is in North Carolina btw.

Luckily I started getting coverage through work so it never came to that. I'm happy that sick people are able to get coverage now, but I'm exactly the kind of person who would be paying to offset the losses they cause the insurers.

So were you unemployed, self-employed or working a job(s) trying to get a job that would better utilize your degree? Or paying your own way through schooling and working part-time jobs that don't provide benefits? My understanding is that someone has to pay for the "sick" people. Yes, the young get penalized for carrying the weight of the elders, but isn't that Medicare and SS? Or is that part of the fight? My understanding is that rates would go down, for those with the huge bump, under Trump (without any significant changes) because Congress will 'fund" it.

  6. I understand that I should do more research, but my personal experience is who is getting hosed by ACA? I've worked for a 'fairly' large corporate company (multiple companies) for the last 25 years and my insurance goes up $10-$15 per year. ACA hasn't changed that and I doubt that changes in the near future (my portion of insurance increased exactly $1/mo this year vs. last year). Is it small business owners and their workers? I'm just trying to grasp who is getting screwed. Are the rates going to down because the Republicans will now pass funding to reduce rates or is there some serious issues with ACA that are not politically motivated?

Yes, delaying game time would have helped. Also - re allocating the workers who would have done concessions on upper deck and opened up all concessions on lower level. There were huge obnoxious choke points. We had outfield seats, I had to walk all the way to the covered concourse for a polish, and because so little was availble it was backed up to the wall so you couldn't walk, completely packed with people. To go to the ATM and stand in line for food I missed 1.5 innings.

It shouldn't be so hard to pay $6 for a hot dog. After waiting in line for 40 minutes to get into the place, last thing I wanted to do was get in line for another 25. I should have left that game being pumped for sox baseball but I mostly left it wondering if I really wanted to see another game until July.

I can't believe I'll finally pop my cherry and it's to post a complaint after this teams start.

I've been a season ticket holder for almost 25 years and have attended 24 of the last 25 openers. I understand some quirks to be worked out and that large of a crowd, but service was horrible (off the charts bad on an opening day). I have Stadium Club access and noticed the shirts on the staff were different. When did Northern Delaware gain the concession contract? The staff was very apologetic and said it was a new management company and almost all new staff. They didn't do a "soft" opening and had no training. Food was cold (and awful), beer was warm, credit card machines didn't work and it was beyond awful. Vendors in the stands seemed normal, but when I left the seats to visit a concession stand I noticed the same Northern Delaware logos and again the service was incredibly slow. I've only attended about 10 games the last two years and maybe the contract has changed hands during that period, but it sure seems Delaware North is a last minute change or clueless. My ticket rep, who I'm tight with, actually knew I was there and was going to meet us at the seats and said they couldn't make it down and wanted to know about my service in the Club and concessions so there must have been numerous complaints.
