  1. 9 June 2008.

It was a Monday and a makeup game against the Twins. It was the 4th game in a 4 game series, originally a 3-game series. Anyway, I had just turned 18 two days before, and it was my first time going to a Sox game in Chicago by myself (Took Amtrak from Toledo earlier that morning, and left that evening). Nick Swisher hit a home run from both sides of the plate and the Sox won and swept the Twins.

On opening day? I am definitely not putting Robert or Madrigal top 6 until we see a couple months of MLB stats from them. They should be there eventually, but these guys are still rookies, and even super talented rookies usually struggle. Robert is amazing, but if Vlad Jr. and Eloy needed to make adjustments, it seems way too optimistic to assume Robert won't have to as well.

    Agreed.

I think Bobbo and Madgrial will eventually be the 1-2, but not for a while yet.

By that logic, is it weird when adults wear a jersey with another man’s last name on it?

I think so, but I also don't think its a big deal (not saying you said that, just my opinion)

Sure, but that was a different Mahomes and different Chiefs’ defense in late October.

The Seahawks were going to give the 49ers a better game.   The Packers, at this point, basically have two offensive weapons.  They get a lot of credit for improving the defense, but their offense was not unlike the Pats after you took out AB and Gordon.

When they played the Chiefs, Mahomes wasn't even playing, he was hurt. And they still barely won.

Most of their wins came against bad teams, and every time they played a good team this year (49ers, Chargers, Eagles), they lost.

Albeit they beat Seattle so I will give them that, but other than that? Meh.

All I really want is to watch meaningful games and be engaged with the team after June.  The last half a dozen late summers or so have been completely pointless as an everyday follow outside checking the highlights and box for Moncada or TA or Gio or Eloy highlights.  Thanks to the pitching and black holes in the lineup watching the actual games stunk.

This year I'd love to just watch a team sitting at 50-40 after the first half try and make the playoffs.  Regardless of outcome just being in the hunt and winning 85+ will be fun.

Same. Into the race in mid-august would have me giddy.

Low bar, but we've seen some bad shit...

  6. I expect Anderson, Abreu, McCann, Moncada to regress a bit. Anderson, McCann and Yoan's BABIP was high, but Moncada had a high exit velocity so I think his regression will be minimalised. Abreu is just getting older.

But you can, rationally, figure that Granda, Abreu, Moncada will probably have a wRC+ over 100, Anderson and Collins will probably hover around 100, give or take around 10 points. Robert, Madrigal, Collins, and Eloy are gonna be the key to this offence.

I'm so sick of Steve Stone Boomer Posting whatever he hears from the FO.

All you have to do is look at his numbers, especially if you are a baseball guy like Stone, to see he is an awful fit.

    I fucking love that wording.

Dodgers could use a starting catcher (better than Will Smith or Austin Barnes) and most definitely a decent back-up catcher, or both.

My guess is that they would want McCann and if they can't get him, then Collins plus Fulmer for one year of Joc.

I am a big fan of Benintendi and Castellanos so personally, I would rather see the Sox exhaust those options before dealing with the Dodgers  for Pederson .

I am just not sold on Pederson as a one year rental.  I don't think Joc would want to stay here in ChiTown unless the Sox overwhelm him with a multi-year deal, and I really doubt they would.

    McCann and Fulmer? Sure

They shouldn't trade Collins away. Period. Let alone for a rental.
