  1. QUOTE (Real @ May 26, 2011 -> 08:31 PM)
    Man, Humber is a BEAST

    Do you guys think he'll be in our rotation next year?

    Guessing it'll be Danks, Humber, Sale, Floyd, Jackson assuming we bring back Edwin (I would normally say he's gone, but we don't have anyone in the wings nearly as good as what he's 'capable' of being)

    It'll be interesting to see what he gets in arbitration

    Not going to happen. Bora$ is his agent, which means he automatically goes out into the free agent market this winter. And Jerry Reinsdorf-owned teams do not negotiate with high-priced Bora$ free agents.

    bunt with alexei in the first but not with oar in 7th in a tie game? Hmmmm

    I was just thinking the same thing. Bunt in the 1st with a runner like Pierre at first and a lousy bunter in Alexei, but don't bunt now with an excellent bunter like Omar and with a slow runner like A.J. on at first. Hmmmmm, indeed!

    I'm not trying to start s***, I am asking a genuine question...

    Why the hell do you come into a thread like this to tell fans that are excited that they shouldn't be? Then tell me to come find YOU when they satisfy some criteria that you deem to be impressive enough.

    Honestly, what is the thought process here?

    I have certainly noticed a "wet blanket" approach to posting from that particular individual.

  4. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 22, 2011 -> 06:54 PM)
    5-0-1 in their past 5 series. That is getting it done.

    A really tough test coming up with this upcoming road trip. I think much of the 2011 story might just be told based on the results of this trip.

  5. Small series, # of games-wise, but big series in terms of outcome. You lose these two, yer 12 out. You win 'em both, yer 8 out. That is a big, four game difference right there, not only in the standings, but in the state of mind for everyone involved. A rather good two weeks under our belts now, so hopefully we are slowly but surely on our way to bigger and better things!

    Vintage Peavy. That is nice to see. I saw him even hit 95 tonight.

    Stone Poney said he hit 94 in the 9th inning, at which point he had already logged in around 110 pitches. That certainly made me sit up and take notice!

  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2011 -> 09:01 PM)
    No, Carlos has def. Been more reliable

    So at that inevitable point in time when Viciedo comes up and Pierre goes, well, wherever he goes, do you leave Carlos in right and slot Dayan in left? Or do you let Viciedo and that arm of his take over right, and move Carlos back to left, where he was somewhat serviceable?

    Life is just too short to spend day after day. night after night watching these well-compensated athletes mail in it.

    If the Bulls make it to the finals that will take us to at least mid-June.

    A month later the Bears will be back.

    I can't fathom to think where the Sox will be by then.

    They're on their way to be 13 games in the lost column behind Cleveland - the same team they beat like a drum on opening day.

    If Cleveland makes it the playoff a share ought to go to Matt Thorthon.

    That guy turned their season and perhaps their franchise around with his blown saves.

    They haven't looked back since.

    Tampa Bay was playing horridly until they ran into the Sox.

    Now they're in first place.

    The Chicago American League Ballclub – for whatever ails ya.

    And that is your Xfinity High Speed, Negative Nancy report for tonight's ballgame!
