  1. My favorite was when everybody had basically accepted the fact that Jermaine Dye was awful in the field, and greg kept on defending him and refused to believe it because of 2005.
  2. Greg, you act like we need to treat ozzie like a freaking special ed student. It's Kenny's fault that he gives Ozzie bench players and he over plays the hell out of them? Come on. Swisher was a better leadoff option than Wise the whole year, despite having an off year. Ozzie still chose Wise over him.
  3. Yeah, the morons on baseball tonight "have lived baseball". Joe Morgan "has lived baseball". Completely irrelevant... Ozzie really isn't very intelligent baseball wise, sorry to say. That's why he DH's Omar Vizquel? That's why he insisted on the rotating DH with garbage players? that's why he can't handle a bullpen for his life? who cares.... again, no he doesn't... have you seen who he DH's, how he constructs his lineups, how he handles the bullpen? I feel like a broken record here. Sure, KW needs blame for this, but Ozzie does too. Ozzie told KW that he legitimately thought this roster set up would work, and he was prepared to take the blame for it. He needs to take the blame. okay... this is just a blind assumption that you don't know... I could say the same about Vinny Del Negro and the bulls. Not to sound like a cocky arrogant bastard, but most of those reasons were garbage. I'm sorry. dude, all you have said to justify it is "ozzie is good, he will get better" basically. He is terrible at making lineups, makes terrible decisions on who plays where in the field, handles bullpens poorly, goes on his little tirades (which some people say is beneficial because it takes attention away from the players, but i think it just brings more attention to the white sox in general), seemly has vendettas with certain players (nix, swisher, anderson), and is stubborn as hell. I'm tired of Ozzie and I really think the sox need to make a change.
  4. If you honestly think 2005 was because of Ozzie... Jesus... It wasn't because of him that basically every player on the roster had career years and played out of their mind. All the chips went our way. We got lucky with the performances of our players. Ozzie is absolutely horrible and putting together lineups. He has far too much influence on who gets placed on the roster (blame can be put on him and kenny for this). He DH's Omar f***ing Vizquel. That should show you how intelligent he is when it comes to baseball. He is just stubborn as hell. He is the one who had a huge problem with Swisher and benched him for DeWayne Wise. Care to give some solid justification on why he should be the manager? I feel that all I'm going to hear is "2005 2005 2005".
  5. it's his fault we don't have thome and it's pretty much his fault that we have this whole rotating DH bulls*** that was bound to fail from the start... it's his fault for putting up f***ing mindlessly thoughtout lineups...
  6. our pitching staff is set for the next couple years, same with the CF, SS, and 2B most likely. i see no problem in getting rid of AJ and seeing if Flowers is the longterm catcher for us. Sadly, we are stuck with Teahen at 3rd and that other crap in the outfield. We really have no major league ready prospects aside from Flowers and Hudson IMO. Unless we get some decent prospects in return, i'm not sure who will man 1B or the corner outfield spots in the near future, as in next year. Here's to hoping we draft Austin Wilson and he makes a Jason Heyward type rise to the top...
  7. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=1489 i dont buy that catchers have a significant effect on how the pitchers perform. plus, i remember reading that pitchers like throwing to flowers.
  8. we should have just traded AJ before the season started and seen what we could have gotten prospect wise... that's what i wanted them to do. now his value is probably lower than it was before. i have no doubt flowers can match AJ's production offensively, and i doubt he can be much worse behind the plate.
