  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 04:44 PM) Not too old, but good call on me forgetting him. I can't imagine replacing any of the A+ starters (or AA ones) with him though. Who in those rotations would you drop in favor of Banks? I had Lowry and Banks in Hi A and didn't have Lambert or Fry. I liked Fry until the arm injuries. Did he have two TJSs or just one? I don't know much about Lambert. I had Burdi in my AA rotation thinking the Sox wouldn't need him in 2017 and he could get more reps that way. What do you like about Lambert? Yeah, I think that supports the choices of Ynoa and Liriano, but not sure what to do with Davidson. Leury Garcia is just not a major league ballplayer in my view and I think he goes to Charlotte or gets traded/claimed.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 09:15 AM) We did this last year and it was surprisingly popular, so here we go again. Here are my best guesses as to which players will end up assigned where, along with lists of players that just don't seem to fit anywhere. I covered the minor league teams a little more heavily than the MLB club, but every player in MLB and stateside affiliates is listed in this article. Unless I missed someone. Who did I miss? Who do you think will be somewhere else, and why? I had banks as one of the Hi A starters. Is he too old to be given those innings?
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 01:35 PM) Yeah Burdi won't be starting, at least not this year. Based on the Big Board I maintain, here are my best guesses: AAA: Giolito, Fulmer, Lopez, Danish, Sanburn AA: Kopech, Guerrero, Adams, Stephens, Lowry A+: Dunning, Thompson, Martinez, Lambert, Fry A: Hansen, Flores, Solorzano, Comito, McRee Guys above who may go to pen instead: Sanburn, Thompson, McRee Guys not above who could jump in somewhere: Volstad, Banks, Walters, Beck So is Holmberg altogether out or is he MLB?
  4. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 01:29 PM) I'm hoping Hansen starts at high A, but I'd be ok with a short stint at Kannapolis. I struggled with that one but my Hi A rotation was getting crowded. I suspect he'll eventually replace either Banks or Lowry whichever one doesn't perform.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 01:16 PM) Is Beck still around or is he a candidate to be a 5th starter or long-reliever role? Also, doubt that Burdi will be a starter. I didn't feel as though Beck had enough potential to take innings away from these others. I'm hoping the rebuild gives the Sox a reason to keep Burdi in a starting role until he fails at it. We won't need him in the MLB pen this year.
  6. As a proponent of "good pitching beats good hitting" I like to forecast the starting pitchers at each minor league level. Many of you follow our minor leagues much closing than I do so please feel free to give us your lists and thoughts. AAA--Giolito/Fulmer/Lopez/Holmberg/Danish AA--Guerrero/Kopech/Adams/Burdi/Stephens Hi A--Martinez/Dunning/Thompson/Lowry/Banks (Cooper?) Lo A--Flores/Hansen/McRee/Comito/Solorzano
  7. My choices for next year's minor league starters are: AAA: Fulmer, Montas, Beck, Marin, Jaye. AA: Danish, Guerrero, Barnette, Brennan, R. Leyer A: Clark, Erwin, Almonte, Adams, Lowry Low A: Wheeler, Quintero, Quijada, Solórzano, Comito Left out or moved on from: Heidenreich, Cose, Valerio, Banks, Einhardt. Still have hope for: Peralta, Thompson, De La Cruz, Martinez, Easterling. The Winston Salem rotation looks stacked.
