  1. Hi there, long time lurker, first time poster. I would probably still be a fan if the Sox moved and their name/history moved with the team to Portland/Nashville/San Antonio, etc, because at the end of the day, that would still be the White Sox, which is the only MLB team I've really ever cared for. However, I would prefer a situation where the Sox team would move and the history/name would stay in Chicago and the team developed a new identity in their new city (i.e. Sonics to OKC). If this happened, I would probably just stop watching MLB. Also, I think eventually most Chicagoans would adopt the Cubs as their primary baseball team. The Bears and Cardinals rivalry used to be just as fierce as Bears/Packers, and now five decades later, most Chicagoans are oblivious to the fact that Chicago had two NFL teams. Still, the A's, Rays, and maybe the Indians are more likely relocation candidates.
