I think it’s crazy that all over Twitter Yankees fans still believe they are going to get Machado despite tons of evidence otherwise. It’s so different than White Sox fans with all the good news we have received being so pessimistic. I’m glad we are optomistic again!

After some thought, the Phillies hiring Manny’s mentor, could be a positive for us. If teams are doing this, you would think hiring these people close to Manny, had to come up in negotiations. I think the advantage is still White Sox.

If my choices were: Manny to Short and Tim Anderson in CF or off of the team. or Tim at short and no Manny. I'm going with option 1 24/7.

The thing that worries me is that Nightengale is the first to report that Jon Jay is official. Obviously he got that information from someone in the know. You would think the next question he asked is "what's going on with Manny?" and probably got the $200 number. If the source knew about Jay, why wouldn't he know about Manny?

Guesses on contract structure? 200 for 7 years. Opt out after 3. First three years at 40, last 4 at 20? Giving him the option to hit free agency at 29 and praying that the Sox are World Seeies contenders so he doesn’t opt out?

If they think they can get it done for 200 million.....

I don’t want to get ahead of myself before we sign Manny but I think someone like Marwin makes sense. Keuchel at the right price (steal Territory) would make sense. Ottavino, to create a super bullpen would be my next move
