Thursday's Southtown is saying that Jerry Manuel has already been told that his services will not be required after Sunday's game. In other shocking news, the sun rose in the east this morning.

And I'm predicting the sun will set in the west just like I predicted in July that this team wouldn't make the postseason in '03 with JM as the manager.

If I was KW, I would have fired JM on 05/25 after losing 2 of 3 to Detroit..... one of those losses being 1-0.

actually he should have been fired on April 12 when the Sox became the first team to lose to the Tigers, a horrid sign of what was to come.

and if that didn't see the deal, the three game sweep in Comerica in early July, when the Sox scored three runs in three games, should have.

Too little, too late -- AGAIN

He probably will keep his job is my guess. If the Sox want to sign free agent types they can't afford to give yp money to pay an ex-manager. Plus they can say that he needs to have the benefit of the second half acquisitions for a full season. I think we will have a different team at the start of 2004 than out of spring training 2003, but it won't be a change involving JM.

Maybe there is some hope for this season after all.

And that was damn close to being a sweep by the Tigers.

There is a better chance that you will be managing the Sox than there is that Jerry will.

There's a better chance the lint on some1's bellybutton will have a greater chance of managing da Sox than Jerry "Del Boque Vista" Manuel.
