September 29, 200322 yr I think part of it may be the Cubs hadn't clinched anything at Wrigley since 1932. Who cares how much or how hard they celebrated. More than likely they know they're getting swept by the Braves anyway. There is no way they get swept. They have no offense, coupled with the fact that their starting pitching has been crushed by the Braves lineup this season. Prior, Zambrano and Estes all have ERA's over 10.00. Wood hasn't faced the Braves this season and Clement was the starter with any success (ERA below 3.00).
