FS: Dylan Cease focus feature w/ video, quotes

Featured Replies

I saw a lot of prospects during my week in Carolina, and one of the most pleasant surprises was RHP Dylan Cease. I'm now happy to report my ranking of him around 10th in the last T30 discussion was too low - he's clearly an MLB T100 guy and I'd put him substantially higher on the team list if I voted again today.

All kinds of details here for you to peruse. Get to know Cease.

Man I read that as Covey and I was just thinking that this had to be some kind of joke. Makes much more sense now.

Cease's stuff is so good. Will be exciting if his arm and body can hold up and if the franchise can build up his stamina.  Guy clearly has starters stuff. Downside wise, he'll be a darn good reliever (closer / set-up guy).  I'm hoping he can stick as a starter though cause he's got electric stuff.

I think he's a pure winner. I believe he sticks as a starter. But there is certainly a lot of arms, the very best of the bunch are

Rodon, ReyRey, Kopech, Hansen, Gio, Clarkin, Dunning and Cease. That's 8 there, not considering Puckett, Stephens or Hamilton (or someone else) doesn't develop into a rotation type.

Of those 8, I think only Clarkin and maybe Dunning does not have "top middle to top of the rotation" stuff. However, I think Dunning and Clarkin, while not having high ceilings have great floors and I think will pitch in a big league rotation.

Another guy to watch is Ian Hamilton, AA relief pitcher. He is a candidate to close down the line. Early returns here in 2018 is he looks damn good.
