May 23, 20187 yr I just finished the book by Ken Harrelson. Even tho it was 370 pages, it was a quick easy read. The only thing I didn't like about the book was Hawk making a bad comment about former sports Writer Bill Gleason. Older people remember Gleason as a life long South Sider and the only sportswriter in Chicago being a life long White Sox fan. Hawk claimed that Gleason hated JR and that Gleason was Anti-Semitic which was why he hated JR. I was acquainted with Gleason for years and believe me he wasn't Anti-Semitic. Yes Gleason did hate JR and Eddie Einhorn but it wasn't because they were Jewish. Gleason thought the two of them were goofs. For years there were reports that Hawk and former Sun Times writer Jay " Woman Beater" Mariotti were involved in a physical fight in the press box. Turns out it was just a verbal altercation between the two. I was disappointed to read that. I wish Hawk would have given Mariotti a few cracks. All in all, a fairly enjoyable book if you like Hawk.
