REINSDORF HAS TO SIGN EVERY DAMN ELITE FREE AGENT HE CAN! How bad could it hurt to lift payroll to $80 million? We all know the only teams left have payrolls higher than $85 with the exception of Florida. Until we get a new owner, we will NEVER make it deep into October.

Ask Baltimore....... or Texas..... or the Dodgers.....

A high payroll does not mean instant success. It can give you more margin for error in who you pick up, but in and of iteself, a high payroll is no guarantee.

Although a low payroll is almost always a guarantee.

Yeah, that's because they pickup the wrong guys. If we did it smartly, I wouldn't be worried, but we wouldn't do it smartly.

True, but the Sox don't have a low payroll..... they are in the middle.

If they will spend $60-$65 mil, that is enough to put a good product out on the field, one that should draw fans and be in contention so that if they need to make additional moves they can.

That is assuming the things they do on the field and in the clubhouse work.

When ya pay a guy tons of money, ya need him to step up. Konerko, Koch, Magglio (to a point, that's alot of money), and some of the other guys need to show why they got those contracts.

This ass-backwards Organization screams poor but signs a bust like Botch to around $10 million a season before THROWING ONE f***ING PITCH IN A WHITE SOX UNIFORM!!!!!

No wonder why the Organization doesn't have any money to sign game-breakers when it wastes millions on pieces of s*** like Botch. But, if JR would sign a REAL GM, this could possibly be avoided.
