January 4, 200323 yr I wasn't shocked OSU won it. I put a bit of money on them (20 bucks), knowing full and well that Miami wouldn't beat them by 12, which was the spread. It was a shame a controversial call came into effect, although I think their was a penalty on the play. Whether that penalty was pass interference or holding, I'm not sure, but I know that holding did happen on the play, and either way it would of given the Buckeyes a first down in the same position and they would of still got the touchdown. Awesome game though. Its really too bad for Mcgahee. He's a real stud of a runningback and now they are almost sure he will have to sit out next season as a medical redshirt.
January 4, 200323 yr Well I guess that Pass Int. call was to make up for the completed pass on 3rd down that was ruled incomplete. I am just happy to see a BIG TEN team win it even if it Ohio State who the ILLINI took to overtime. So I guess that puts Illinois and Miami on the same level Well watch out next year because the BIG TEN and the ILLINI will be back in full force!
January 4, 200323 yr Well watch out next year because the BIG TEN and the ILLINI will be back in full force! Illini fantasies are so cute! The Big 10 is at the top now, 5-2 in the bowls, and Illinois played in none of those bowl games - even when Illini wins something in the Big 10 they can't beat Michigan, nor win their bowl games (remember the Sugar Bowl?). It will be between Michigan and OSU next year for the Big 10 title - as usual - they have their offensive line back, and we have the returning veterans we need.
January 4, 200323 yr WTF?!?! By ILLINI being back I mean at a bowl game. I couldn't give two or three s***s about the craphole of the Midwest known as Ann Arbor Michigan. I hope that OSU kicks their ass every year. PS Look at Iowa when comparing them to the ILLINI. They were not as hyped as Iowa and they managed to post similar performances in the big games.
January 4, 200323 yr Speraking of next year we all know who is going to win..... the SOONER of OKLAHOMA. They proved that they are the team to beat next year. SO everyone who thinks otherwise is just dumb as an ox.
January 4, 200323 yr Whether that penalty was pass interference or holding, I'm not sure, but I know that holding did happen on the play, and either way it would of given the Buckeyes a first down in the same position and they would of still got the touchdown. I'm not an OSU or Miami fan but I did watch most of the game. The pass interference call was AWFUL! No way that was pass interference. And since holding wasn't called on the play, let's not even start trying to equate "running-and-bumping," which occurs on every play, with a terrible call by an official that was in no position to make the call. The official that the play happened right in front of ruled it an incomplete pass. It's a shame the game ended the way it did. Once again, the calls went OSU's way (as they have all season [see the Michigan game]) and they're National Champs thanks, in part, to an official.
January 4, 200323 yr Holy s***....there was a game? I was fixated on Willis McGahee's knee the whole game. Ouch....that had to have hurt. So long to his great career. That was a great game....and it came down to the very end. Sievers is a clutch motherf***er, I'll tell you that for sure. I don't know if I could stand in that kind of situation or hold anything down, let alone kick a 40 yard field goal.

Iowa also had a 6 week layoff and that will kill a team that runs more of a pass oriented offense like Iowa does. It would be like having a pitcher sit out for 5 or 6 weeks and then come back and ask him to play well, its just not going to happen.
January 4, 200323 yr I didnt even get to see the Fiesta Bowl. I got myself kicked off TV and when I woke up this morning my dad rubbed it in by calling it the greatest game in the history of the sport. I was pissed for quite a while this morning and I still am a bit...
