Now 22 years-old, Thompson is still working his way through the minors after being a highly-touted 2nd round pick in 2019.

He missed having the 2020 season for his development, due to the pandemic.

In 2022, he split between high A and AA, with middling results.

He has the talent to be a future starter, but right now, he gives up too many hits per innings pitched. 

He does show good control and has a very good K to IP ratio, however.

 

He'll probably repeat high A for a good portion of 2023.
