Sox 2003 draft report card

Featured Replies

Was that how we signed Buehrle?

He was drafted late out of HS, I believe (could have been after his first year at a JUCO). The Sox liked what they saw and thought he might develop so they kept an eye on him during the JUCO season. They then signed him after his season was over, having retained his draft rights until the June draft.

The process is dubbed "draft and follow"

Vandy started classes in late August.

With Jeremy Sowers (a top 10 pick in 2004), another pitcher and this kid, the Commodores have high hopes to go to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in many years.

Bottom line: Moviel, he GAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, basically, our minor league prospects are mediocre and few and far between?

We have very few "studs." That really limits us in terms of trades.

Wonderful

i'd consider Reed, Cotts, Anderson, and Honel top notch prospects, with Rauch, Borchard, Wing, Sweeney, and Munoz right behind
