I heard a few years back on the old "Huge Show" with Phil Simonsen and Lou Conellis that Joey Cora got hooked on needles and quit soon after. Was that a joke? What happened to old Joey?

I know it sounds weird but Joey Cora was my favorite White Sox of all time, though Thigpen was close. I hated Ray Durham for at least 3 years after he took over even though he played very well. At least my favorite closer wasn't Matt Karchner

I never heard about Joey Cora juicing it. He had a pretty good major league career though.

I doubt he was a juicer if he is now managing. Not likely he would be hired.

yea it was prolly a joke if someone is letting him manage their prospects they wouldnt put someone on steroids there, i wouldnt have expected it either.

The guy was super small too. It would be like Kenny Lofton on steroids
