Is that enough for MTL's cost cutting

Featured Replies

now that they ditched Colon and resigned Barrett and Toe Knee Arm Ass, what is their salary, is it less then 40 million and is then who is most likely to be shopped if they need more room?

They still need to dump some payroll.

what are the numbers now, and projections for next round of cuts?

I'm not sure, but I think they still need to drop like 4 million or so, at least.

i thought i read somewhere it was more around 12 mil left to dump.......either way one or two guys should have them under the money mark........

If they can deal Tatis and Cabrera, they'd be under...odds are, they won't be able to. But it's a possibility.

The Mets, if they want to compete next year, really don't have that great of a 3B or SS...but I'm not sure they could add both Tatis's and Cabrera's salary.

They might have to deal Vazquez...but at this point, I think they'd want someone damn good in return....ie, a team's #1 or maybe their #2 and a blue chip prospect or something like that, along with about $2 mill in cash...then they could deal Armas Jr and Barret and be under. They wouldn't be good, but they would be decent....probably a 75 win team or so.

Then again, they'll have Jeff Liefer as their opening day 1Bmen....so who the hell knows? :D
