December 19, 200322 yr Author Why is this a PR nightmare for the Sox. They cannot help it if the player they are willing to swap for Maggs is unavailable. If anything, I wish Kenny would now screw the BoSox by telling them to give more than they are giving right now otherwise calling it off. They are vulnerable since they cannot take Nomar back. And the Dodgers will screw the Bo Sox too now if they try to unload him to the Dodgers (who were not willing to give up their pitchers even then)
December 19, 200322 yr I agree. Only problem with that would be that if KW already gave the Red Sox his word, he probably has to follow through on the original deal. Otherwise, he's cooked for trying to make future deals because he'll be viewed as somebody you can't trust.
