So much for that idea. I wasn't really looking forward to him as closer next season anyway. He was pretty crappy the second half of last season. Unless we get Williamson it looks like it may be Koch or Marte next season, and I don't really htink Rhodes would have been that much better than either of those guys.

If the damn deal for Arod/Manny didn't drag on for so long we could of had a better shot of signing Rhodes. Because of all the uncertaintly surrounding the deal, followed by the NOmar/Maggs proposal, it left the Sox with no clue on how much money we would have left to sign other players. Bean just walked over and picked up Rhodes while we were involved in all this s***.......which still hasn't happened.

It all depends which Arthur Rhodes we'd be getting:

 

If it's AR of 2001-2002, then the Sox should have gotten him (except no money!)

 

If it's AR of the OTHER 11 seasons of his career, he can go and f*** himself.

 

 

Also, he is gonna be 35 next year, not exactly a spring chicken.
