January 2, 200422 yr Did you get to Sydney for the games? I was there for work the spring before the games and got to tour the village and facilities, but of course I was not around for the games themselves. I flew in on 'ANZAC Day' (sp?), and had NO IDEA what it was or what to expect. I realized I was really just an amateur drinker compared to some of the pros down under (found a great brewpub called "The Lord Nelson" though). And I never figured out that gambling game where you flip the coins with the little paddle, but people were playing it out in the streets and getting quite worked up over it. No I didn't end up bein able to go to Sydney, but down here in Melbourne we had Soccer and I was able to go see a few matches, includin the U.S Womans team who drew with China I think. But if they had to reschedule it, I would definitely go up to Sydney to see sum more events. I've been to Stadium Australia and the Olympic Village bf last time I was up there.
