January 20, 200422 yr Damn I wish I could share the optimism that some of you have. Agreed. This team just doesn't excite me. The only thing I hold on to is that Ozzie will not take the games against s***ty teams like they're easy wins and we'll be motivated and show some heart, and that we'll be better then 11-8 against the Tigers and we'll win the 1-0 games. Then I realize we have to play Seattle, Oakland, Anaheim, New York, Boston, and 4 of the 5 NL East teams, and that is one of the toughest divisions in the majors(3 teams could easily make the playoffs and 2 others are pretty damn tough teams), and the Twins and Royals 38 times, and my heart sinks again.

I don't know if Ozzie will really be able to motivate this team. Looking at the core of the team the last few years it seems like it would be alot to ask of anyone to motivate theese guys. Sometimes I think we would need Tony Robbins on speed to even have a chance to motivate them.
January 21, 200422 yr For 6 years, JM managed a corpseball brand of baseball. Maybe Ozzie can, by changing the style of baseball the Sox play, change the outlook of the players.
January 21, 200422 yr 93 wins, baby. Keep hope alive. We're defenitely capable, its just a matter of going out there and doing it instead of taking the 1st 2 months off like last season.
