May 10, 200421 yr agreed, an announcer like hawk is hard to find. He is a fan of this team, he is usually in the same mood as us during the game. Now if your a fan of another team, then your right, Hawk sucks as an announcer. I couldn't agree more. One of the things Cub fans like is that Chip is a Cub fan. He may be stupid, but he expresses what Cubs fans feel for the most part. I love Hawk, and I love that he relates to how I feel most of the time.

He's just not a sports man/broadcaster; he lacks the instincts and knowledge. His style is grating to say the least, but then again it PERFECTLY suits Casual Cubdom sensibilties.
