I was astounded to see Jose batting against the lefty reliever in the 8th with 2 on and 1 out. Unfortunately, there was no right handed hitter on the bench except Olivo.

 

With Jose having struck out miserably 3 straight times against Rogers, would you have brought in Olivo to pinch hit in the 8th? I know it's risky to give up your only other catcher, but it's the 8th and Valentin was an automatic out.

 

Obviously it's easy to say now, but I did say it at the time. I would have brought in Olivo to pinch hit because he was the tying run late in the game.

I think it was worth a shot i mean if olivo did go down are you telling me no one else has any catching experience whatsoever. I know i have heard them say maggs can if he really had to but at that point he was already out of the game.

I woulda given Valentin a bottle of Cuervo & sent him home. At least that way Ozzie could save him the misery of another at bat.
