WSoxShuf
says Sox Management and Ozzie has 3 hour interview to discuss 5th starter problem. Had talks of everyone from Freddy to Pat Hentgen. Ozzie said we are as good as a last place team without a fifth starter.

Gotta do better than that.
WSoxShuf
.....and what were the sox last year, 2nd place team.
witesoxfan
.....and what were the sox last year, 2nd place team. Unless you win the Wild Card, 2nd place is just as bad as last place, if not worse. Your fans are devastated, and you don't get a top pick. What's up with that now, eh?
WSoxShuf
That is what I meant, 2nd place sucks.

Wong & Owens
In my best Bill Cartwright voice: Horrible, just horrible Mac, Jurko, and Harry? :puke M,J & H = Best sports radio show in Chicago. Mike & Mike? Dull as cardboard, they never say ANYTHING that isn't the consensus opinion Murph and whatshisname? Like fingernails on a chalkboard Dan Patrick? Good, when he bothers to show up Boers/Bernstein or whoever is next? Second best show. Rome? Never talks about anything I care about. Cant stand his cadence either. North? I know more about Chicago sports than he does, and I'm not even being arrogant. Buffone? Buffoon, useless except during football season. Who'd I miss? 7am--6pm weekday shows only. hammerhead johnson
M, J & H = Best sports radio show in Chicago. To each his own, but they're about as unqualified as they come as far as I'm concerned. Their voices suck (especially Jurko). They're not funny at all. They play mainstream rap instrumentals (which might be the worst aspect of it). They're like the Sports Radio version of "Best Damn Sports Show". It's a radio show for frat boys. Cubs fans, basically. I've been listening to sports radio since the early 90s, and I'd have to say that they're the worst I've ever heard. Even that one guy who got mauled in Bridgeport was better than those guys. At least he had a voice for radio. Hell, Tommy Williams was better than all three of those guys combined, and he was on from midnight to 4 AM on the Score for a while there. Kid Gleason
I'll go one better: M,J & H: Best RADIO show in Chicago, sports or non-sports. They all work extremely well together, have very good sources, admit when they are in error, even if it is many days - weeks after they made the original statement. Just an all around great show. I personally like Mike and Mike. I was a big AM1000 fan before the buy-out and was devasted to hear them going all sports. Was never a big sports fan, outside of baseball, and I still am not. At all. But Mike and Tony were great in the beginning, and I really liked Mike Gullic (sic, that's how much I know about sports). Once Greenie moved in, the show got better. I disagree with the statement about them just saying what everybody else says, I think there are some good opinions on there, and some boneheaded ones. But I believe that they truely are their true opinions.
hammerhead johnson
totally agreed. I hate Mike North, why would anyone like him?? You've obviously never heard Mike's Ron Santo impression He does it almost every day. See, it's the little things like this that make the Mike North show worthwhile. When I tune into sports radio, I expect comedy. Not frat boy humor. Sports information? That's where READING comes into play.

There you go- the HUGE show. Not good by any means, but the big dufus and Lou had voices for radio, and therefore, were more qualified than the 3 headed bozo squad. Although McNeil has a decent voice. I can't totally cut him down.
Kid Gleason
Harry was the one I always had a problem with. I am O.K. with him now, but back when he would do the Bonaduce show, and show up on all of the other guys shows, good lord that man was more annoying almost than Chet Chitchat! And I know that they cut him down constantly. They call him a fat ass, and what not. That's "Best Damn Sports Show" humor with Kruk and Tom Arnold. While Cubs fans burst out laughing, I change the channel with the quickness.
