June 3, 200421 yr Link I have officially declared war on the "blown save" as a credible statistical measuring unit. It's the worst, most flawed, most misleading and most shamelessly overused stat in baseball today, often by baseball writers and columnists who should know better. Blown save counts hint at bullpen inefficiency but don't pin it down very well. For instance, you can have multiple blown saves in one game, yet you can still win that particular game.
