I've never understood why some folks refer to a team being "2 games out in the loss column". I've always believed that wins are the ONLY reference point when tracking the race.

I suppose the "loss column" thing started when fans looked for something to be positive about - "Yeah, we're 5 and 1/2 games out of first, but only 4 games out in the loss column", or something like that.

Either way, the Sox are not playing well right now, and they need to get Magglio back and get that lineup back to normal.
