The Critic Posted June 21, 2004 Share Posted June 21, 2004 I've never understood why some folks refer to a team being "2 games out in the loss column". I've always believed that wins are the ONLY reference point when tracking the race. I suppose the "loss column" thing started when fans looked for something to be positive about - "Yeah, we're 5 and 1/2 games out of first, but only 4 games out in the loss column", or something like that.
