Even though I'd love to smoke the Cubs today...I wouldn't mind seeing SHINGO in the 9th again. Another poster mentioned it....Shingo gives you that "game over" feeling.

Junkballers like Old Man Maddux usually give the Sox hitters a hard time, but let's hope that Loaiza can outduel Maddux and give the Sox momentum heading into the series that REALLY MATTERS!

GO GET THOSE TWINKIES!!!!!!!

It's the guys making their 1st MLB start that kill us more than anybody. We usually handle the old hands pretty easily. I agree that we do need momentum going into the Minny series.

GO SOX!!!!!!!

We do know if we get to the ninth it's Zero Hour.

The old man is due for a bad game.

It all depends on what the home plate ump's (Dan Cooper, I think) strike zone is gonna be like. If he gives the corners today to the pitchers, we might be in for a tough afternoon since Maddux lives on the outer regions of the plate.

What's gonna be interesting to see if the pitcher that gives up no walks can keep that going against the hitter leading the AL in walks. Of course, if Maddux wants to leave a mistake out over the middle of the plate, I'm pretty sure #35 will oblige him and put it in the left field stands.
