EvilMonkey
I get frustrated whiel watching alot of Sox games, even ones they win, when I notice this. And to me, it seems like it happens alot. WHat is it I notice? OK, to me, it seems like every time the Sox go and get a run or two, the next AB for the other team, the pitcher goes and gives it right back. Give Garland a 2 run 3rd inning, and in the top of the 4th, he gives up a 2 run HR. Ties the game for Loaiza, he walks the leadoff batter nect inning on 4 straight pitches, then gives up 2 doubles to lose the lead he just got. I go back and forth from optamistic to pessamistic, but it seems to me like they are ALWAYS giving back runs right after getting runs. Is it just me? Is my Evil Monkey brain too messed up from trying to deal with all these political discussion to see straight? If not, WHY can't our guys hold onto a damn lead? Xero
:headshake Yeah I noticed that, especially about every game the Twins play against the Sox.
cwsox
I'd encourage doing an actual study of box scores of this season before drawing that conclusion. I'd really be interested in the actual stats. In 2000 we seemed to usually score the next half inning afte our opponents score although I never studied the box scores on that, I would be curious about what the actual stats are on this season thus far. Yoda
Loaiza does it consistently. The Sox give him some run support and the next inning he either gives up a lead off double or a HR. Like Hawk has said so many times, last year when Esteban ran into any trouble, Cooper would go out and talk with him. After that Loaiza looked UN hittable and it seemed like he allowed absolutely no runs after the meeting.
AngelasDaddy0427
I think it just seems that way. Our pitching hasn't done that bad. They all gave up 4 runs and managed to keep us in the game. Thats all we can expect of them against a solid team like the twins. Thats when our offense needs to step up. Hopefully this is a wake up call. YASNY
My perception also is that Loaiza and Garland have a knack for doing this. They seem to "relax" a bit instead instead having the killer instinct and shutting the other team down. But like cwsox, I think it would be interesting to see stats and not just rely on perception.
