July 30, 200421 yr Why are the Sox keeping 3 catchers on the team? Sandy Alomar is having a terrible year, but Ozzie keeps playing him about 2 games a week. I know he brings a lot to the clubhouse. Why not just place him on the DL, and have him act as a coach. He's turned into a ground out to the left side machine. It's not like his catching abilities are so superior that it makes up for his below average hitting. The Sox could use that extra roster spot to call up another reliever, or to add another righty bat off the bench.
