Steve Bartman's my idol
Why don't we go after this guy, it appears as if he is available, with all the trade rumors out there. I would rather trade Sweeney to the Dodgers for him rather than Cliff Floyd. :fthecubs

They are making a run at Finley among other VETERANS they think can help them in the postseason. Forget LoDuca coming here.
BigNDfan80
A catcher should be far down on our list of priorities. We need a lead-off guy....bullpen help..and another starter before we think about a catcher.
chimpy2121
Contact hitter with 49 RBI, only 27 Ks. I'd take him! But like winning ugly said, they wouldnt give him up.

IlliniKrush
Before/After all star break average splits: 2004: 313/222 2003: 307/226 2002: 326/233 2001: 346/
Queen Prawn
Because with Burke, Alomar and Davis, we are set at catching, right? Take a look at Burke's numbers and how the pitchers respond to him (early thread about pitchers' ERA best with him out of all the catchers we've had this year). Catcher isn't the highest priority right now.

Queen Prawn
He would fill two voids, our catchers suck, and so does our hitting as of late. Liek I said, look at Burke's numbers. He is doing the job. I never said he was the best, but catcher is hardly our biggest issue at this time.
Chisoxfn
Because the Dodgers have offers on the table with the Marlins to get Brad Penny or AJ Burnett for LoDuca and another minor leaguer reportedly. Jeff Conine would also be a part of the deal. And from what is being reported out here, none of the Dodgers top prospects would be included. Imo, you'd be a freaking idiot to accept this if you are the Marlins, but supposedly they are very interested and its quite likely a deal goes down.
