I just want to say, I went to Comiskey Park on a field trip yesterday, and OH MAN!!! What a beautiful ballpark we have here in sweet home Chicago. Stepping in the dugout where Thomas, Ordonez, Buerhle, or Konerko had stepped.... OHHH what a feeling. Sorry, I'm not bragging, I just had to get that out !

No kidding! How'd you get to do that, and why? That would be the best field trip ever!

Any noticable renovations??

I was inside USCF this past January. Most of the renovations are cosmetic this season. The OF steel bordering the scoreboards and advertisements, the light poles, and the underside of the upperdeck roof have been painted black. The interior of the ballpark has been painted gray. The small scoreboards which border the Club Level are being replaced with what appear to be the wrap-around type installed recently in the United Center. I could be wrong about this though..... don't quote me on this. The OF concourses are being redone. Trees and ivy will "green-up" the once stale gray sidewalks. The smokers should enjoy these concourse renovations because sitting benches will be installed to border the tree boxes. HSC told me at SoxFest that a new scoreboard was laying in CF waiting to be erected but I didn't see that when I was there in January. At last sight, the same exploding scoreboard since USCF opened is still in it's place. The upper deck concourses have been redone to mirror the renovations completed to the lower deck concourses last season. The seats are still blue. That's about all I saw. Hope that gives you a mental picture.

How did you get in to just browse around. To me, who has only been there twice, that place is still like a fantasy land. I wish I could visit it much more often.

Well, I have a job which affords me the opportunity to know the head of a certain Dept. which organizes a certain function common to every game at USCF. He got me in so I could "browse around"

Yeah, it was a school field trip. I am in a class called Urban Studies, which is the study of Chicago. Tee funny thing is, Wrigley Field has more history, since it is older than USC, but the Scrub bastards woudln't let my school in! So this just goes to show you, the Scrubs are not fan oriented! It was damn fun! Go White Sox!

things i know for sure are done as of now... the wrap around thingy like united center killa was talkin about... the club level is done ..(they didnt finish renovations last year)... tgi fridays in cf where that batters eye thingy is..... new ivy and bushes....new score board and jumbo tron.. everything that can be painted is now black...(well the score board uprights, and all the overhangs in the ud and some around the concorses)......btw the new jumbo tron is supposed to be huge.....thats all i know for now about the renovations though.......

I got to go to Comiskey (when that's what it was called) a few years ago for with my baseball team and they took the team picture out there on the infield. Then we got a tour of the place. Nice, I must say.
