Jose Valentine

I like him against RHP

But his .124 average in July and his .187 average in August are inexcusable.

I love the guy as a player...he plays his ass off, is a smart player, is a clutch player, and is very underrated defensively(people too often look at his errors and do not realize that he is among the league's leaders in both range factor and zone rating), and he would probably give his left nut for this franchise...but it could be, and probably is, time for a change

If this really is Jose's last year as a member of the Sox...it has been a good run for him.  He's been a hell of a player for us.

I agree with you 100%.

Valentin is an above average shortstop, defensively. The groundballs he gets to that other shortstops wave at more than makes up for the ones he boots. He's also been a field general and a very good baserunner. Jose has been a good ballplayer for the Sox for 5 years.

However, in the interest of redesigning this team, I feel it's time for the Sox to let Jose move on. As I've stated countless times, the core of this team has failed and it's time to change the core. Jose is part of that core.

I agree with you 100%.

I am worthless.. :)

 :D
