Former White Sox assistant general manager Dan Evans, who was fired as the Dodgers' GM at the beginning of this season, has been hired to assist Mariners general manager Bill Bavasi in finding a new manager. Among Evans' early recommendations: former White Sox manager Jerry Manuel.
