SN Report: Harris, Borchard, and Three Others Cut

The White Sox cut their spring roster to 28 on Wednesday by optioning or reassigning five players, including centerfielders Joe Borchard and Willie Harris.

Borchard and Harris were optioned to Triple-A Charlotte along with left-handed pitcher Mike Porzio and righty Matt Ginter. The Sox reassigned catcher Jamie Burke to the minor league camp.

The move assures jobs to Aaron Rowand in center and Gary Glover in the bullpen, and leaves two bench spots open for Josh Paul, Miguel Olivo and Aaron Miles. Armando Rios, Brian Daubach and Tony Graffanino have apparently secured spots on the bench.

Lefties Josh Stewart and Dave Sanders are the 27th and 28th players left. Sanders chance is slim, while Stewart is relying on the health of Danny Wright. The Sox are expected to make their final cuts this weekend.

I think all of those moves are correct.
