Ricks has just been chillin on the DL the entire season.

Ricks hasn't necessarily been "chillin'" at all. Ricks had been directly assigned as the catcher for rehabbing Wes Whisler. As Whisler is becoming a left-handed specialist, Rick has been there to catch Whisler's bullpen sessions. Adam has spend many days in Kannapolis as well. I have seen him instruct Mike Blanke, coach 1st base & catch warm-ups between innings.

Yeah, he's basically a player coach now. More coach than player. I don't understand why the White Sox don't just officially hire him as a coach.

Ricks was released, late in the 2011 season. Closing and archiving this thread.
