Over the weekend there were a few stories about the Korean outfielder wanting to come over to play major league baseball. His background was discussed in another thread, including a connection with Guillen and Tim Raines.

 

I've not seen any speculation of where he might end up, who's interested, etc.

 

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything.

 

Also, and more interesting to me, the Cuban defector Kendry Morales, switch hitting 1B and corner OF. Initial talk was Cleveland being interested, apparantly that interest has cooled. I've hear nary a peep about Morales for about a month.

 

Anyone seen info on either of these two?

The last rumor I heard about Morales was Anaheim, but that has been a while. Maybe Jason can give more on that.

Yeah, here is the rumor, they are thinking of using Weaver's money to sign Morales.

It's my guess the Weaver signing gets done for sure. How that affects Morales, who knows.

 

I do know the Sox looked at Morales but do not know if they're interested.

It would be my guess that they wouldn't look at Morales unless they move Konerko.
