December 19, 200421 yr I found this kind of funny. From Rotoworld: The Brewers will attempt to avoid arbitration with Ben Sheets by agreeing to a one-year deal before trying to hammer out a multiyear contract with the right-hander in the spring. The team will want Sheets to show he's fully recovered from back surgery before they attempt to sign him to a three-year deal. Contrary to what Peter Gammons keeps repeating, Sheets is not eligible for free agency until following the 2006 season. He's not likely to become available in trade talks in July
December 19, 200421 yr Is Gammons reporting that Sheets will be a free agent next year or just that he could likely be trade material in July? And where and when is Gammons supposedly reporting this?
December 19, 200421 yr This was already posted, but yes, Gammons should check his facts before writing.
