The Bulls were set to hire Jeff Bzdelik as an assistant on Cartwright's staff shortly before Denver hired him as head coach in 2002. Bzdelik, whom Denver fired on Tuesday, is a Mt. Prospect native who has general manager John Paxson's respect. The Bulls discussed adding another assistant last summer, but it's unclear if they would do so with Bzdelik.
