A-ROD and the D-Rays

Featured Replies

Did anyone see or hear that A-ROD gets paid, 22 milion, more that the entire Tampa Bay D-Rays at 19.5 million. Wow that is interesting.

:o

Saw it on CNN last night, and is on ESPN.com

The funny thing is they just added Easley after the Tigers cut him. The Tigs still owe him $14.3 mil or just about the entire DRays payroll!

That proves 2 things...

1) Some contracts are ridiculously high

and

2) There are too many teams in baseball. When a team's payroll for 25 players is under $20M, there is no point in them even playing -- they have NO chance of competing over a 162 game season, and their fans know that, and will not come out to the park. That means unless you get an owner like Mark Cuban of the NBA's Mavericks to pump MILLIONS of his own money into the payroll, there will NEVER be an improvement. Contract 2 or 3 franchises and get some competition in this great sport!
