After reading Peter King today I was wondering if someone could explain exactly how the supplemental draft works. He didn't come out and say that Matt Leinart is going to be in it but yesterday's column could indeed be one to look back on if news breaks in the coming months. I'd appreciate information on the process. Is it a lottery?

There are seven rounds. The order is the same as the ameteur draft. In whichever round a team makes a selection, it will forfeit a pick in that same round in the NFL draft the next April. A team does not have to make a selection in the supplemental draft.
