SoxFan1
On who is better, I say Koch. He has an awesome fastball at 98-99 and a decent change-up or slider he can throw by him! As far as who is more valuable, its Marte. Only because he can close games also. He is our main setup guy, if a pitcher struggles he comes in, stops the runs, gets a hold, and saves the lead for Koch to close it out. They are an awesome 1-2 punch for the 8th and 9th innings. Like Mendoza/Nelson/Stanton and Rivera used to be in NY!

CubKilla
myself..i gotta go with marte...since about june of last year when manuel settled him into his role he has been almost unhittable... Unless he inherits runners on base

Besides, Marte..... or any other relief pitcher brought in with one out and bases loaded for that matter..... is supposed to get an out without any runs scoring. IlliniKrush
Thus far Marte has been more consistent, but Koch has better "stuff". If he just learns to use it correctly and get his head screwed on straight, he'd be even more dominant. But you need both of them on this team...you need marte for the 8th...especially after what i've seen from flash thus far
SoxFan1
The 1st couple games, Kich had no control but he has brought it as of late. Marte can also come in and get that tough lefty, but he is good vs righties also!

clujer420
any relief pitcher brought in with one out and bases loaded is supposed to get an out without any runs scoring. I disagree with that completely. Bases loaded and 1 out and giving up 1 run is very acceptable -- particularly in the situation the Sox were in (up by 5 or so runs). Now, bases loaded and 2 out, you should escape unscaved most of the time. I was just happy that Marte averted the big inning and got out of it with us still with a big lead. I can very much live with what he did in that situation.

The jury's still out on the Colon move....even if Colon flops, you CAN'T call this a bad move. If you can get a top tier starter for two decent relievers, a backup OF/1B type, and a mediocre prospect....you do it. That in itself is a very good move....and one you can't pass up. Now if Colon can help lead us to the promised land....then that will be KW's best move.....by far. Also...in doing this....he made 1 player very, very, very happy....that playing being Jeff Liefer. Liefer is now getting a chance to start in Montreal....and we all know that he'd wanted to start for a couple years...and with his 2001 stats, he deserved to start somewhere. If he can be that good with the bat....he could be a helluva hitter some day. Maybe the next Ryan Klesko
