Mock Draft Contest Starts Next Week

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

As many of you know, this is the first year Soxtalk has offered the War Room. To that end, we'd love to hear any suggestions you'd have for the Mock Draft Contest. Whether you have an idea on the scoring system, the tie-breakers, virtually anything, please feel free to post them here. The contest will be up either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Here's what I came up with:

-First round mock only

-Second and third round tie-breakers on your team of choice

-One point for every correct pick

-One bouns point for every five in a row correct

...and maybe some sort of self promotion like a Soxtalk award (just to remind us you pwn) :D

Thanks and make sure to join in!

You set up a poll every 3 or 4 days.

The first poll would be the 49ers.

"With the first pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select:"

Then you put 4 or 5 players and "other" as options.

The members of Soxtalk vote, then, after 3-4 days, the vote is tabulated.

The next poll has The Dolphins and 5 different options, with the 49ers pick in the written area...It's a perpetual thing, until all 32 picks are done.

Towards the end, you can speed up the voting time if you need to, so that the mock draft is over before the real draft begins.

I would say doing that along with this would work out.

Seeing the consensus pick by Soxtalk is fun(except for Harris going to the Bills...WTFLOLZ :bang :P )

The polls really aren't a contest...they are more just for fun. However, this would be an actual contest...seeing who has the brains to run a mock draft website(sorta).

As do I.

Ok, upon further review, we are going to run the contest as stated in post #1. This system is really easy and I think it will entice quite a few posters to join the festivities. The contest will be up either Tuesday or Wednesday of this week and I hope to see all of you there!
