Indians @ White Sox Game Thread

Featured Replies

2nd game of a 4 game series and the starters are:

Josh Stewart- 0-1, 4.91

Brian Anderson- 2-1, 3.48

Gametime is 1:05 CT.

Anderson is 3-1, 4.91 lifetime vs. CHI and Stewart has never faced Cleveland.

Magglio Ordonez has hit in 14 straight and Frank Thomas has reached base in every game he has played this season. But, neither player has really broken out yet. They might have a chance against Brian Anderson, a left-handed hurler. Thomas is hitting .500 this season against lefties. With an intentional walk from Billy Traber in the seventh inning, Thomas broke Luke Appling's White Sox career record for walks with 1,303. Thomas has now reached base in all 15 games he has played in 2003 and leads the American League with 17 walks. Jose Valentin has reached base in 13 straight games. Ordonez extended his hitting streak to 14 with a RBI-double to left in the third inning. Ordonez has the longest active streak in the American League. Aaron Rowand is in a 2-for-26 funk during his last seven games. The White Sox are 10-0 when not making an error in a game, and 0-6 when committing an error.

Weather: Luckily for Manuel, his team has been more consistent than the Chicago weather. After hitting 84 at game time Tuesday and then dropping to 34 with the wind chill Thursday, Saturday's forecast calls for 70 degrees with scattered thunderstorms.

can't wait

:cheers nothing like baseball on a saturday afternoon

I'm ready too. Gonna be doing homework at first while watching the game which kind of sucks.

-Leadoff double by Milton Bradley after Josh fell behind.

-He goes up 0-2 on the next hitter and throws 4 straight balls so runners on 1st and 2nd.

So far he's looking just like he did in Detroit and thats not good cause he was falling behind everyone in Detroit and this kid is gonna get hammered if he's falling behind. I sure hope he starts showing me some stuff to prove me wrong. Also, like I say it takes more then a couple starts to judge a guy, especially since they first have to learn the speed at a new level, etc, plus a lot of times you also have to wait and see what happens after major leaguers make adjustments.

-Ellis Burks strikes out on a low changeup. Stewart did a nice job setting Burks up.

-Someone rips a deep shot into center but Rowand has room and makes the catch. Runners on the corners with two outs. Come on Josh, get Karim Garcia out.

-Karim Garcia flies out to Carlos Lee.

Nice job Josh. It showed that you don't panick after getting in a tough situation, me likey.

damn I wish I were there -

being the day before Easter I couldn't get away and damn I wish I were there -

what a great first inning thus far -

that was an incredible swinging 10 foot hit by Olivo -

Shades of 2000: Killing medicore/bad pitchers and coming through with 2 outs ANY WAY WE CAN, including unearned.

That was a beautiful swing Lee put on the ball--when you can see the pitch well and are mechanically correct, you'll be surprised how much damage you can do if you have tools Lee does. A single? He missed a homer by a coupla feet.

6 unearned runs in the 1st -

1st and 2nd, Hurt K's, Maggs pops out

Frank and Maggs GOTTA get those runs in..but finally, the wheel starts to turn the Sox's way. SIX 2-out RBIs :cheers

D'Lo has just been doing about everything right :cheers :cheers

I don't like Stewart so far: his fastball has little movement and is below average velocity-wise, his curve is hanging and no slider yet. The only thing that saved the lowly Tribe from killing him is his change. Shades of Parque.

Just fumbled the ball and then threw it away.

35 pitches so far, with no outs in the 2nd - he is laboring -

D'Lo does it again :cheers

3-3, 2 RBIs, 1 run, hitting .350 :headbang

Now there is the difference between someone with excellent batspeed and one with slow(ed) one: Frank gets one in his wheelhouse and still gets overpowered by it flying out to CF whereas Maggs comes in the next at bat and kills the below the knees ball to LF.

I still say Frank's bat has slowed down. Considering the pitches get gets, he should have about 7 homers by now. ..And for the love of all that's holy, please don't bring up his OBP. When Ray Ordonez has Slug% 180 points higher than you out of 9th spot on Devil Rays, you have problems

8-1 Sox.

O-E-O GOES DEEP :cheers

Lee 3-run homer off Myette!!!

See what happens when you go up 2-0 on a mediocre pitcher and look nicely at pitches you try to swing at. Let's hope Carlos has turned the corner...

Doesn't he have a homer for each of the last three games? :cheers

SOX WIN SOX WIN SOX WIN SOX WIN SOX WIN SOX WIN SOX WIN

:cheers 4TH STRAIGHT, 11-6 BABY :cheers
