October 15, 200223 yr Boy do I miss having him on the Bears right now. He was a good reciever and that was a nice touchdown run he just had.
October 15, 200223 yr Yeah but you have to remember that is was Engram leaving which allowed Booker to break out. Our WR's aren't really the problem.
October 15, 200223 yr Engram was solid every time he stepped on the field. Be nice to have a good possession guy to offset Dez, and Marty's drops.
October 15, 200223 yr Author Good thing Mark realizes that Booker makes drops. So many people seem to just forget those drops and point at Dez's, but Booker's dropped at least 3 td's more likely 4.
October 16, 200223 yr I think your gonna see David Terell become the "go to" guy and marty become the possession reciever, which i think he actually is. Marcus is gone, and Dez is useless.
October 16, 200223 yr Yes Booker has made some drops. If Dez would have played like Marty has so far, then his drops wouldn't be an issue, but he hasn't. But Booker usually comes right back after a drop and makes a solid play. Im not about to fault Booker for his drops. Some of the catches he has made, and the hits he takes for them, have been amazing. DT won't be the go to guy as long as he is still backing up Booker at the flanker.
October 16, 200223 yr Author Still, can anyone tell me a game where Dez got the opportunity to make the catches? I'm not saying he would make it, but it isn't like he's a huge part of the offense.

I've said before that I believe that in 2 years, Bears fans will be praising the Bears for holding onto Dez. Dez seems to do better on hook/curl routes. They throw to him on too many Fly routes and he always has trouble making that catch. Im guessing that its because of his vision.
October 16, 200223 yr Author I Tend to agree with you. I like Dez a lot and I'd use him like a Az Hakim. Just get him a certain amount of touches and he will make things happen as well as losen up the defense. He's big, fast, and can make things happen. I've seen him bust a few, its just they always go back on penalties. I'd treat Merrit the same way. Then let Mrob, Terrell and Booker make the other catches and to me thats a very good receiving combination. Of course Mrob probably wont' be here after next year, but you can always sign a good veteran reciever imo. Darnay Scott was available up until basically the first week and he's awesome in my book. The one flaw is getting better blocking, a better running game, and seeing if Miller can look at everyone instead of just one guy.
