Bears sign running back

The Bears signed former Illinois running back Antoineo Harris to a two-year contract Tuesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Harris remains the second-leading rusher in University of Illinois history with nearly 3,000 rushing yards from 1999 to 2002. He also set a school record with 1,330 rushing yards his senior year.

The 5-foot-10, 217-pound Harris was signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted rookie in 2003. He spent the season on injured reserve, and the Chargers waived him last spring.

Harris participated in the Bears mini-camp earlier this month on a tryout basis. He will be reunited with the team's new offensive coordinator, Ron Turner, who was head coach at Illinois for eight seasons until he was fired in November.

Good for Antoineo. However, he won't make the team.

Don't the Bears have a crapload of running backs anyways?
