Flash in Pan Gordon

Featured Replies

Hey, I haven't seen many games on TV unfortuantely, but do read the boxes, recaps, articles, etc.

and I am thinking Flash Gordon needs to go.

Am I off base or is this guy not so good?

We seem to have plenty of pitchers capable of filling his role.

To those of you who have seen most games ... is Gordon done?

I don't think we need him coming into games and giving us the ugly linescores

he's been giving us.

Should Flash be dismissed ASAP or are you hopeful?

I am thinking it's time for Flash to depart.

Oops I hadn't been on the board recently and finally read several threads and many of you

also trashed Gordon.

Sorry for the redundant post.

GO SOX!

I think Gordon has definitely been inconsistent so far in '03, but to say "get rid of him" or to call him a "flash in the pan" (nice pun, btw) is IMO a bit premature.

This guy saved 54 games in a row just a couple seasons ago, and in the second half of last season had a very nice ERA (somewhere around 3.00). That is nothing to sneeze at, and I think we should stick with him for a couple more weeks. If he continues to choke away leads, then we obviously need to do something about it. But, to get rid of a veteran like Gordon 22 games into the season is not prudent IMO.

Good points plu.

When you said prudent I thought of those George Bush skits on Sat. Night Live

"wouldn't be prudent."

I agree with you. I'm just frustrated at this time.
