Is that an MVP contract or ESPN contract?  I know they are also on a local station in SB.

I believe it's an MVP contract because Irish athletics are brought to you by Westwood One.

Here's the article.

Sox moving down the dial

Loved this quote:

"As Chicago's number one ranked sports radio station, we're excited to begin a long-term partnership with Chicago's only first place major-league baseball team," said Paul Agase, vice president and general manager of WSCR in a statement from the Sox.

OFF TOPIC...I guess they are going to have a different schedule with Mike Murphy. I think him and Mike North should be put together again like last year. For me that was the best radio lineup. I can't stand listening in the morning when North's buddies talk about stupid things like white/black marriage and nuns and stuff of that sort. I dunno why they don't talk *MORE* about the first place White Sox or sports in general. They did last year when they had the Murph in the moring.

Interestingly, the 1000 signal is much stronger to the east.  Both stations actually reach into certain parts of Canada.  Several Canadian acquaintances have told me they often listed to Blackhawk games on both 1000 and 670.

But yeah, the 1000 signal to the west is awful, it's very fuzzy in the western suburbs after 6 pm or so.

It's not the time that determines the signal strength, it's the daylight. In the winter time, you can actually hear them flip the switch around 4:30 p.m.

I really liked Murph & Fred in the morning. I can't stand North. Fred being such a big Sox fan, I think he should have something to do with the pre or post game show.
