July 21, 200520 yr Radcliffe’s nickname, “Double Duty”, was coined by a newspaper reporter who watched Radcliffe in the 1932 Negro League World Series at Yankee Stadium when he played for the Pittsburgh Crawfords. In that Series, he caught Satchel Paige’s shutout in game one of a doubleheader and then proceeded to pitch a shutout himself in game two later that day. I wonder if all those throws he made back to Satchel Paige counted in his pitch count.
